Code of Conduct for Students

At Government College, Fatehabad (HQ), we strive to create a disciplined, respectful, and academically enriching environment for all students. The following Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for student behavior both inside and outside the classroom. Every student admitted to the college is expected to uphold these values with integrity and responsibility.

1. Academic Integrity

  • Students must attend all classes, tutorials, and practicals regularly and punctually.

  • Use of unfair means in examinations, assignments, or any academic work is strictly prohibited and will lead to disciplinary action.

  • Plagiarism or copying of assignments is not acceptable.

2. General Discipline

  • Students must maintain decorum on campus and treat all faculty members, staff, and fellow students with respect.

  • Misbehavior, use of abusive language, or any form of physical or verbal abuse is strictly forbidden.

  • Loitering in the corridors or disturbing ongoing classes is not permitted.

3. Dress Code

  • Students are expected to dress modestly and appropriately, maintaining the decorum of a government educational institution.

  • Wearing college ID cards while on campus is mandatory.

4. Campus Cleanliness and Environment

  • Littering, defacing walls, desks, or other college property is strictly prohibited.

  • Students must contribute to keeping the campus clean and eco-friendly.

5. Use of Mobile Phones and Electronic Devices

  • Use of mobile phones is prohibited during lectures and inside classrooms unless permitted by faculty for academic purposes.

  • Any misuse of electronic devices for recording, streaming, or inappropriate activities will be dealt with strictly.

6. Ragging and Harassment

  • Ragging in any form is strictly banned and punishable under the law as per UGC and Government of Haryana guidelines.

  • Any kind of harassment (physical, emotional, or sexual) will lead to immediate disciplinary and legal action.

7. Participation and Conduct in Events

  • Students are encouraged to participate in academic, cultural, and sports activities but must do so respectfully and responsibly.

  • Any misconduct during events, both on and off campus, reflects poorly on the institution and will be addressed accordingly.

8. Property and Infrastructure

  • Students must handle college infrastructure, equipment, and library books with care.

  • Any damage caused due to negligence or willful misconduct must be compensated.

9. Substance Abuse

  • Possession or consumption of alcohol, drugs, tobacco, or any intoxicating substance is strictly prohibited on campus.

10. Disciplinary Action

Violation of the code of conduct will invite warnings, suspension, expulsion, or legal action based on the severity of the offense. The Disciplinary Committee of the college will oversee all matters related to student conduct.


Note: Ignorance of rules is not an excuse. Students are advised to read and adhere to the Code of Conduct throughout their time at the college.
