Posted on 05/06/2025
On the occasion of World Environment Day, dated June 5, 2025, a special tree plantation program was organized at Government College, Fatehabad. On this occasion, a Triveni plantation (Peepal, Banyan, and Neem trees) was carried out in the college premises, which is considered a symbol of environmental conservation.
The program was inaugurated with a tree plantation by the Principal of the college, Dr. Jaibhagwan. In his message, he said, "Tree plantation is extremely important for maintaining ecological balance. Triveni plantation not only provides environmental benefits but is also deeply rooted in our cultural traditions."
On this occasion, retired Principal Dr. Hawa Singh also addressed the students and inspired them to stay alert and connected to nature. He emphasized that taking care of plants is not a one-day task but a continuous responsibility.
Dedicated faculty members and staff such as Dr. Kapil Dev, Pawan Kumar, and Dr. Vishnu Ram actively participated in the plantation and encouraged students to contribute to this noble cause.
At present, the admission process for the B.A. program is underway at the college. Many female students who came for admission also enthusiastically took part in the environmental campaign and assured that they would personally take care of the planted trees.
Since the operation of the college shifted to the DIET building, student enthusiasm and participation have been commendable. Students are fulfilling their academic responsibilities as well as their social and environmental duties with full dedication.
The program was conducted by Assistant Professor Dr. Kapil Dev, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Assistant Professor Pawan Kumar.
This event not only highlights the college’s commitment to the environment but also plays a vital role in creating awareness about greenery and cleanliness among future generations. Other staff members of the college — Sandeep, Ashok, and Himanshu — were also present on this occasion.
